You’ll train with experienced instructors and be part of a supportive flying community.

We teach the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and can help you plan what comes next. We specialise in grassroots flying and Hour Building, which could be the start of your commercial modular training.

If you are building hours, our aircraft hire and self-fly options help you stay current and keep progressing.

At Compton Abbas Airfield, there is no lengthy holding sat on the ground whilst paying airborne rates, we’ll have you airborne and flying above the beautiful cotswold countryside in 5 minutes.

From the cockpit you’ll have stunning views the Jurassic Coast and some of Dorset’s most famous landmarks; Cerne Abbas Giant, Shaftesbury, Hambledon Hill and Melbury Beacon. Views Thomas Hardy could only dream of.

Compton Abbas is a true community-led airfield, with our Self Fly Club you can be a part of something even when not flying.

Visitors to Compton Airfield can enjoy beautiful historic aircraft and observe the comings and goings of Compton’s light aircraft community while enjoying barbecue dishes smoked on-site from The Lore of the Sky restaurant.
