Do you need experience to take a flying lesson?
No experience is required. Trial flying lessons are designed for complete beginners.
How long is a trial flying lesson?
Lessons are available for 30, 45 or 60 minutes – but you'll be onsite for longer as each lesson includes a pre flight brief and a post flight debrief with your instructor.
Can I take the controls during the flight?
Yes. Under the supervision of your instructor, you will have the opportunity to fly the aircraft during the lesson.
Is it safe to try flying a plane?
Yes. Trial flights are conducted with qualified instructors in certified training aircraft and follow strict aviation safety procedures.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Our aircraft are all 4 seaters. You can purchase temporary membership for £20 for passengers to sit in the back seat. For passengers waiting on the ground, Compton Abbas Airfield has a fantastic restaurant, Lore Of The Sky, plus we have tea, coffee and seating at the Compton Flight Training Airbase.
